Meaning of Sasural
Sasural is a Hindi word for "In-laws' house". We have used this word to depict the foreign land as "sasural" for the Indians living away from home (India). There is a bond that binds us all to our motherland. A bond which only seems to grow deeper (not necessarily stronger) as the distance grows and time passes by. It takes us years and even decades to completely grasp the reality that we have left our motherland for good.
In a unique sense we (the ones who have moved out of India) might have been blessed to get a glimpse into the heart of a young bride who leaves her home to join her husband. There is a strong emotional relationship with our home that we carry within our deep selves for the rest of our lives.
